My name is Dr. Jordan Walker. I am a National Trainer and Speaker teaching teachers how to build and maintain discipline in their classroom.
I received my Ed. D. from the University of Sarasota in Organizational Leadership. After earning my degree I taught emotional and behavioral disorders in the private and public sector. I founded Jordan Reeves Associates in 1999 while working with Dr. Terry Alderman from Resources for Professionals.
Today I work with administrators, teachers, staff, substitutes, parents and bus drivers. Learning Focused Schools, Thinking Maps, Motivating At-Risk Students, Implementing a PLC and the De-Escalation Program are just a few of the many training workshops I offer.
I am the author of Successful Classroom Management Strategies and a member of ISN, International Speakers Network. My book was developed from the research based program, D.A.T.A., Discipline-A Total Approach.
The book is designed to benefit both new and veteran teachers. It offers strategies that will assist in Preventive Discipline producing an environment conducive to academic excellence. My methods provide the teacher with more time to teach the subject matter and provide the student with a renewed interest in the subject. The research upon which it is based is documented by Robert Marzano, Susan Cahill, Fred Jones, Ruby Payne, and studies done at the Erikson Institute in Chicago, Department of Health and Behavior Studies,Columbia University and studies documented in numerous behavioral journals.
Laying the proper foundation is the best beginning for teachers’ and students’ success in the school environment. Many of these strategies can be used in the home by parents and guardians, daycare centers, after school programs and service organizations, anywhere children are present, can use these strategies and tools to raise positive young people who will contribute to our future society.
